Still, EW&F
I first saw EW&F in California in the mid 70's I think and have seen them on and off in recent years. Last night's performance at Wolf Trap was nothing short of spectacular. My wife, a native South African just kept saying 'I have never seen anything like that!' Yes, the guys are a bit older -- we all are. They don't move like they did in the 70's, few of us do. But the heart, soul, sound and professionalism is still there -- The trade mark of the greatest band of all time. In these times of diversity, last night, EW&F performed and brought together all races, young and old to be witness their greatness and longevity. Seeing the photos of the guys from the past, especially Maurice, made you feel good...brought tears to most of us. Took us back to friendlier times. Verdine on Bass, Ralph voice and percussion, and Philip percussion, kalimba and that amazing crystal clear falsetto - still. Wonderful
Flew in from NJ to see Concert and was not disappointed. About 90 minutes of non-stop memories. All our favorites werw on the playlist. Philip Bailey sounded great as did the other members. Used to see EWF regularly many years ago, haven't seen them in about 15 yrs. Where they get their energy I have no idea. Verdine still crazy. God bless them. ... Read more
